Album 56 is a minimalist dreamscape of laid-back beats, clean layered sample chops, and live bass. An instrumental experiment - this EP is comprised of six smooth songs that transport you to a specific time and place in life. A reimagining of jazz and a love letter to lo-fi - it serves as a road trip for your psyche, a milkshake for your soul, and a hiatus for your ego. When listening to this album, it’s easy to find yourself slowly sinking into the warm, soothing soundscape and losing all track of time. Deeply personal and unapologetically authentic, Album 56 feels like sitting in silence with someone you love, satisfied just existing.

AED’s origins are a bit hazy, but it appears that he has been quietly helping to shape Portland’s DIY music scene for the past fifteen years. He is a fog-like apparition melting into the ethers, an ever-present phantom that never fully appears but is always boosting others with his presence. AED has consistently brought the vibes, uplifted beats, and thrown down in the name of exploring the overlap of community and music. His sound is nostalgic-funk with a hint of ambient-mysticism that will lull you into a dreamless, quixotic slumber with a smile. Though his main focus is music, his creative output includes multi-media art with an old school handmade aesthetic. What AED has up his sleeves will only reveal itself with time, but whatever it is - we know it’s gonna be dope.
